Micky had no aspirations to be an actor until he was kicked out of an art lesson and made to sit in on a drama class; a punishment that re-directed a troubled youth to pursue a career in the arts.
in 2019 Micky was selected as one of 21 actors nationally for the BAFTA elevate programme. The programme is designed to support people from under represented groups in the film and TV industry.
The group will take part in a bespoke 12-month programme of support throughout 2020 including networking opportunities, introductions, mentoring, tailored panel discussions, masterclasses and workshops focused on professional development.
Micky is also co-founder of Blowin’ A Hooley Theatre, a company dedicated to making theatre affordable and accessible, taking authentic North East stories to non-theatre goers.
